Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!

Georgian Bay Executive 2025 Fall/Winter Newsletter

Another show year is in the books, and we hope that our GB Trillium Members had an amazing summer of showing at the collaborated Central Zone Trillium Shows this summer and you all met or exceeded your showing goals in 2025!

For those that qualified for and attended the 2025 Trillium Championships at the lovely Wesley Clover Parks, we hope that it was all that you expected and, more importantly, that you had fun. We heard the added Schooling Day was a huge success!

As we start to gear up for the 2026 Show Season here are a few announcements and reminders:

A few notifications:

  • The Georgian Bay and Central East Trillium Zones will be once again combining forces and running the collaborated Central Zone for 2026.

Qualification for the Trillium Championships and Year End Awards have not changed from 2025.

  • We have announced the show dates!! Prize Lists will be released in early 2026. Please check on social media or contact any of us for more information.

Exciting News from the Central Zone Show Managers!!:

  • Based on the results of the survey regarding the Small Horse Division (Thank you to all who responded so enthusiastically) GBZ and CEZ Show Managers are very pleased to announce that this division will be added to the show schedules for all of the horse shows as a Pilot Project in 2026. Specs on this division will be added to the Prize Lists, so keep an eye out for those.

Exciting News from the THJA!!:

1)     The .65 M Jumper Division has been approved to be added to the 2026 Trillium Championship schedule as a Bronze Division if 4 of 6 Zones offer the division at 50% of their shows. It will run under a 2 Year Pilot Project and will be open to horses and ponies.

2)     The .75 M Jumper Medal Class has been approved to be added to the 2026 Trillium Championships show schedule as a Bronze class if 4 of 6 Zones offer the division at 50% of their shows. It will run under a 2 Year Pilot Project and will be open to Junior and Amateur riders only.

3)     Updates to the Hunter and Jumper Medal Classes – These classes are open to Junior and Amateur riders and wording has been added to make the flat portion of the medal classes “at the judge’s discretion”.

Full specs on the .65 M Jumper Division, the .75 M Jumper Medal and changes to the specs for the Hunter and Jumper Medal classes will be on the THJA Website and added to the Central Zone Shows’ prize lists.

  • THJA Memberships are on sale and can be found at www.thja.ca. The Early Bird Price is $40.00. Get your memberships before the price increases on April 1/26.

A reminder that all riders and horse owners are required to have a Trillium Membership if they wish their show points to count towards both the Trillium Championships and the Year End Awards.

Please remember that the zone that you wish to collect points in is the zone membership that you should purchase. 😊

  • Another gentle reminder that all riders and horse owners are also required to have both:

Equestrian Canada Memberships (either Bronze or Silver Sport Licenses depending on the division that you are showing in) (www.equestrian.ca) and Ontario Equestrian Memberships (www.ontarioequestrian.ca)

  • ALL horses showing Silver-rated divisions and classes must have EC Horse Recording Numbers to be eligible to show and collect points towards Year End Awards.

Once again, Temporary Horse Registrations for 2026 will no longer be available and entries not meeting the sport license or horse recording will not be eligible for points and may incur fines.

Please get your memberships and horse recordings EARLY 😊

  • The 2026 Georgian Bay THJA Annual General Meeting will be held in early spring 2026 and more information will be released regarding this closer to the date.

The Georgian Bay THJA Executive Board would like to wish all of our GB Trillium Members and their families a safe and happy holiday. See you all in 2026!!
